The entire redirect process is handled at the network edge via Cloudflare's global infrastructure, meaning redirects are blazing fast regardless of where the visitor is located.
URL Shortener Best Practices
- Always verify the original URL is correct before shortening. A short link cannot be easily corrected after copying and sharing it.
- Be mindful of link expiry — our links are valid for one year. For permanent links, consider a dedicated link management service.
- Combine shortened links with UTM parameters on the original URL if you want to track analytics in Google Analytics separately.
- Avoid shortening sensitive or private URLs (private documents, one-time payment links) since the shortened link could be guessed or shared unintentionally.

Can I customise the short code? Currently the tool generates a random 6-character alphanumeric code automatically. Custom aliases are not yet supported.
